After graduating from vet school, Dr. Jackson joined a practice in Upstate New York in 1995, which was a 3-doctor mixed practice. Dr. Jackson became a Partner/Owner there, and over time the practice grew into a 10-doctor mixed practice where Dr. Jackson helped to oversee the veterinarians as well as 50 employees. Dr. Jackson took a one-year leave from her practice in 2005 to work at an Avian/Exotic practice in order to learn more about these species. She returned to her mixed practice and worked there for 20 years before coming to Twain Harte in 2016.
Dr. Jackson grew up the daughter of a neurosurgeon, which gave her an early fascination for medicine and surgery. She worked as a veterinary assistant during her high school and college years. As a veterinarian, she developed an avid interest in Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Avian and Exotic Medicine, as well as Wildlife Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Jackson was voted Wildlife Veterinarian of the Year by the New York State Wildlife Rehabilitation Council in 2013.
